The drama in Faust version 3.0 comes from the main character´s disappointment when he faces the impossibility of knowledge which, in the Internet era, is no longer based on the superiority of nature and the weakness of human knowledge, but in the volume of information. Fragmented information which creates the illusion of an absolute knowledge, the vertigo of a false knowledge, an electronic encyclopedia on a worldwide scale. The reunion of Faust with the instinctive world of Mephistopheles, his alter ego, unleashes tragedy.

Therefore, our Faust is an interpretation made by inhabitants of the end of the century. Persons with a synchronic vision of the world, very similar to the one that can be perceived when you are using television or computer in order to communicate with the world. Persons which have been able to reason successfully –stadia full of hooligans or prisoners- Persons which have an urgent reason to verbalise reality. Persons which question who the author may be and build parts of this work via the Internet. All in all persons living in a part of modernity very different from the one that Faust saw the birth of, possibly our big brother and, consequently, difficult to understand unless we talk about him.

The right to the intellectual property within the new mass media such as the Internet, CD-ROMs and other formats is the centre of a huge discussion. Initiatives are needed in order to bring new examples to be observed and which can open new ways to improve this situation. The General Society of Authors and Editors (SGAE), aware of the necessity of these lessons, produces this project and makes it easier for the authors of the tracks selected by La Fura dels Baus to perceive their lawful rights.
