ATLANTIDA: This opera, gestated for twenty years by Manuel de Falla to be finished by Ernesto Halffter, was the first operatic challenge for the company. La Fura dels Baus and Jaume Plensa, an internationally recognized sculptor, assumed the staging of the work by invitation of the Granada International Dance and Music Festival. The performances in front of the Cathedral of Granada provoked a reunion of the city and the composer. The combination of a magnetic staging with faithfulness to the work determined the brilliance of the production. Premiere: 23rd June 1996, Granada.
