MANES:
A journey back to origins through a sea of actions
where a series of images provoke the audience member's perception. The vitality
of the games and rites, and the physical high voltage, accompany a multimedia
narrative, involving an interchange of images within the set.
The theatrical space is generated and transformed as the action happens. The
actors carry out these changes.
In this piece two types of conventional theater are used. On the one hand we
have Furan language in which the actions happen in the same theatrical space
which is shared with the public and where impact and risk predominate, the
characteristic friction of La Fura dels Baus.
On the other hand there is a move towards conventional theatrical language. Character
sketches are introduced at the same time as certain scenes with a frontal view
point are created for the audience.
Premiere: June 1996, El Ejido, Almeria (Spain).
