DADLE CAFE:
(Give him coffee): a thirty minute theatrical
fantasy which represents, from La Fura dels Baus' totally subjective and
iconoclastic formal point of view, the life and also the death of Federico
Garcia Lorca (1898-1936).
From the tales of everybody in the rich Andalucian boy's romantic,
fine-irony-filled bucolic youth, passing through the diaspora of his soul
between Manhattan's towerblocks in the acquaintance with the universal and
Surrealism, with his lovers -artists like him, until the grave and bloody
news for the world of his murder. Give him coffee rehearses, with love and
the characteristic visceral method of La Fura dels Baus in the fantastic,
multicolour curtain of Lorca's language.
Give him coffee was commissioned by an Columbia Pictures to inaugurate the
premiere of the film Death in Granada directed by Marcos Zurinaga, starring
Andy Garcia.
Presented in Granada on 17th February 1997
