CONGRESO DE ARQUITECTOS: The closing act of the architect´s congress in Barcelona in June 1996 consisted of an assault of the communications tower in the Montjuic Olympic ring, by Santiago Calatrava. The stars of the show's first act were fire, fireworks and percussion. The second act consisted of a descent from the top of the tower by several climbers which, at the same time, illuminated a trapeze artist. Afterwards came the descent of a large number of inflatable dolls. In such a controversial congress the action carried out by La Fura had several interpretations of architectural nature. Many saw it as a homage to the architect, others as a criticism to the strangeness of that tower in such a pure modern architectural setting like the Olympic ring.
